I think my GSM has ich

Please help. Over the past few days I have noticed a few white spots on the sides of my GSM and I'm thinking it's ich. I have another GSM in the tank as well as a Peppermint Shrimp and Skunk Shrimp. What would be the best way to deal with this issue? I do not have an extra tank laying around, so what should I do to treat him. He is looking good and eating as usual, but I want to nip this thing in the bud as soon as I can.

Thanks for any advice you all may have!

In order to treat your fish, I need to know exactly what your fish has.

Do the white spots seem like grains of sugar?

Do the white spots vary in size?

Do the white spots seem to be in different locations on your fish every day?

What do you have as a sandbed in the tank with the fish with white spots (crushed coral/sand/rocks/etc.)?

Don't mean to hijack the thread but Tiger, I have had some spots on my purple tang and she now actually has a whiteish blotch under one of her pectoral fins. The only grain-sized spot that has remained on her is a very fine salt grain size. There have been 1-2 others on her but they move and they are no longer there. I have a shallow sand bed with aragononite (and cyano as you can see). Here is the pic of the spot...

AustinVines:

Catch your tang and rub the white salt grain object area. If the white grain comes off, it is not a disease. Check your water quality and salinity.----respond to me with the results+Is the white blotch sticking out of the fish's body---or is it flat?
