I think my lights are casuing GHA

ok so I bought my tank used from a reliable source. The lights I have, no idea of the brand. it sits screwed in on my canopy 90 gal.. 3 sets. the left and right side has all white leds.. the middle is a strip of 6 blue and white leds...

What I noticed is the GHA is extremely heavy on the left and right side of tank and hardly any in middle.. could this be my source? I think after my fluconzaole treatment I am going to reduce the white lights.. I really want to buy a couple new lights but each are $350.... heavy on wallet

Specific light spectrum can certainly influence algae growth..

As T5 bulbs tend to age you typically can tell as algae growth increases... stuff like that shows spectrum influences..

Many don't like, I have had good success thus far with Visparspectra, not fancy, no software, no lightening storms, but built well and my corals, SPS, Clams, happy 25 months now.

They also make a 30 inch, 350 watt model for 200 ish, might fit a 90 well....

Always make sure no sunlight crosses your tank.

do they have to be hung? I like to mount mine to the canopy

You will need a minimum of 14" from canopy inside top to water. If this is not available then stop here.
A total of 4" for box(2.5") + cord (.5") + vent space (1"), and you will have to build a bracket to hold.
This would allow the light to be 10" from the water surface.
If you do not have fans already in your canopy, likely black box is not the way to go.
So depends, if your ok at fabricating a bracket, if not, again maybe not the light for you..

I just built a custom canopy for these lights was able to build so that I am 16" from canopy inside top to water. I will be ordering CBB lights soon.. I have a 90 gal was justw ondering if I should go with 2 165w version or the 1 300w. what ya think?

So I built my canopy but made it too tall in my wifes opinion so she hates the look LOL... I made it 17" tall from the water line lol... you guys think a tall big canopy is ugly?
