I know that I am not an "active member" of SEASL (because I'm too far away to regularly attend meetings and be a part of the group) but I would like to agree with Kathy and say that this forum has suddenly taken a nosedive.
This hobby, as with so many others, is becoming more of a political problem than anything. There have been tons of threads on here lately that have been nothing but negative bashing. If you don't like something that someone is doing or have had bad experiences, please take your frustrations elsewhere or handle the matter privately. I know with one thread in particular someone was asking for advice on LFSs in STL. Some of you posted constructive things, myself included, but others just bashed away as if this were a flame war.
I frequent this forum and used to enjoy reading the threads and I was able to learn a great deal from them, as well as getting to know some of the people here indirectly via their posts. It seems anymore that all people want to do is bash.
We're in this together, for the love of the hobby, it is our common ground. All of the negativity on the forum lately has really negatively impacted our character and I for one have lost some respect for the SEASL group
I would like to see some good threads going here...post pics of your tank or something good, no more negative comments that keep mods on their toes. I don't think this is too much to ask of everyone. I really like this forum and the people on it, but things are starting to go downhill. Please go look at your gorgeous tanks and remind yourself what this forum and this hobby is about, and next time somebody says something that rubs you the wrong way, brush it off, don't start a flame war.
Your fellow reefer,
Chelsey
