I want a Nano tank but I'm not sure where to start.

I plan on putting my mated pair of false perc clowns in there, an anenome eventually, cleaner shrimp and some clean up clew, maybe one more fish but I doubt it, depends on what size I go with.

My local local fish store has (can't remember the brand) nano cube 14 gallon on sale until Xmas for 154.00. comes with two PC lights, lunar lights, back overflow wall etc.

Would it be better to get a 29 gallon tank or something and build my own of go with one of these prebuilt jobs. If I should build my own what size and are there any threads on building one?

Consider all-in-ones without a hood to give you the most flexibility down the road. I have an Aquapod 24G with PC lighting and really like it but it's been a battle customizing the hood to address issues like high temperatures, desire to upgrade stock lighting, etc.

Use the search tools on the main page to get you started. It's a toss up on which one because all seem to be built well these days and everyone that has a NC, BC and others are happy with them. They all can be modded to fit your needs. I'm sure I am reaching the $1 G mark and the tank is 3 months old. Now that is including the animals and such. The 14 BC is a decent size to start with cost wise. I think that if you go the build your own route you will save some money and can use some of your own equipment you already have.

Well I don't plan on taking down my other tank, except for a couple pieces of live rock.

I was thinking about buying a 29 gallon tank and making a false wall int eh back and building it myself. I started figureing things out though and by the time I buy a 29 gallon tank, a decent light setup(even just PC's), a pump and all the other stuff I could have bought the bio cube already. We'll see I'm going to head out right now and look around.
