I want to raise clowns!

I have been trying to determine what species of clownfish I want to breed? I would like to see if anyone out there has any suggestions as to what type, right now I have a chance to get a pair of: Clarkii, ocellaris, pink skunk, or tank raised black ocellaris. And if anyone has a favorite book they would suggest to a new breeder.

Get Joyce Wilkerson's Clownfish book. I think that's accepted as the standard text. Also, Martin Moe's "Breeding the Orchid Dottyback". Of course, I have both books and can't get anything to actually make babies.

Hey...congrats and welcome to the quest for clown babies lol...

It is a ton of fun and the two aformentioned books will be great help...

One word of advice, start with cb clowns if possible...IME much easier to breed...but then again that has just been my experience...

i would love to have Babies too, although i am still trying to read how to, and what species are easier and u have more sucess...

Is there a definite host anemone that should be bought ahead of time, or is it trial and error. For example my maroon will only take to "his" condy. I have tried others to no avail

Wow thats funny. Hosting a condy and nothing else.

Try to breed Amphiprion mccullochi, Amphiprion latezonatus or the all common Picasso Clownfish.

As far as I heard, nobody is breeding A.mcc or A.latez. anybody breeding allaridi?
