What can I go with for a Wrasse? Its going to be in a 40B, yellow tang, diamond goby and corals, OPEN TOP...

I would like a nice show piece fish... What do you think I should get?

All wrasse will jump!
to answer your question, how much are you willing to spend? because the labout's fairy wrasse is pretty sweet

Price isn't tooo much of an issue honestly.. its for the live-in GF so its pretty much whatever we like we will get...

Add a mesh top. No top =equals= no wrasse. All wrasses jump. Through small holes. When you least expect it. I know! But if you use find mesh screen as a top, it will work and not look too bad or block too much light, so I've heard. I'm still building mine.

My yellow Coris jumped last month. I have a full top but it was open because I was changing bulbs. I turned my back literally 2 seconds to grab a fresh bulb, and that was all it took. He hasn't been seen since! There wasn't even a scary noise to cause him to jump in the first place. He just saw his chance and went for it.

If you want a wrasse, get a mesh top if you want it to live. Maybe a custom acrylic one that sits flush with the top of the tank so it's not too noticeable. I'm in love with my red lined wrasse. As a female she's a pretty rose color and swims everywhere in the tank. Gets along with all the fish and inverts and has "personality". Also, she hasn't tried to jump yet, but I wouldn't trust her without a cover.

I reckon give your local LFS(s) a call and see what they can get. Then google the list and pick out the ones that look nicest and go for one of 'em. :)

without a top, it'll be a goner soon. they can/will jump in the blink of an eye.

also, not to be the tang police or anything but 40g doesn't even come close to what you need to keep a tang.

Blue zoo is not a good site for tank sizes

I am surprised blue zoo and LA are actually on the same page on this wrasse. Haha.
