I wonder why my anemone hasn't eaten by hand since I bought it... I never see my clowns feed it and this Friday will have been a month... It's still inflated and has deflated twice that I know of to get ride of waste... I called the LFS where I bought it to ask what there distributer feeds them and they said they don't feed them they just harvest them... I know they can last a great deal of time with just sufficent lighting but I know they have to eat too!! I wonder why it hasn't eaten??? Still looks healthy to me...

Some people have kept anemones for several years without ever actively feeding them, actually. Some studies have suggested that many species of anemones detritivorous, feeding off of the waste of the clownfish that live in them. Perhaps if your clowns are hosting the anemone, they're providing sufficient nutrition just by laying around in it.

If you can, put up some pictures of the anemone and post your most recent water parameters and maybe someone can pop in and point it out if the see something that is amiss.

I wil try to post a pic in the next day or so when I get my friend to take a pic of it...

Is the anemone sticky? If you place food on in its tentacles it should pull it in. Unless the clowns are ripping it out. I hardly ever feed my anemones. I have an 18" Carpet and a 5" GBTA.

I don't think so, maybe... It's a BTA and when I put the krill in its tenticles it chills there losely until the clowns bump it out or the current takes it... I shot some mysis shrimp at it the other day and it seemed to close up on it but I couldn't tell... He's in a hard spot to see his mouth at all...sometimes I wiggle the krill and he'll close up just to soon open up and let it go... Like it was just closing up cuz something touched it..
