i want a mantis shrimp bad hey fellas or gals i live near st. louis and i am looking for a mantis shrimp. i would like one semi colorful but not that important. i love reef tanks but have always loved the bad ***! have been completly infatuated by their live style. I would like to know if anyone around hade one come into their possesion and would like to part with it or if you guys knew where i could purchase one? i have been apart of this site for two days and you are all great. thanks greg

YOU WANT TO PUT A MANTIS SHRIMP IN YOUR REEF ?!?! that thing will destroy your tank !! literally !! those suckers crack open snails like a potato chip

If you put one in your reef, be prepared to be buying snails and hermits by the dozen. They won't hurt your corals or anything (and most likely not your fish, unless they're goby type fish that sit around a lot), but if you have any inverts, say sayonara.

I'd reccomend buying a 10G tank with some live rock and set that up specifically for the mantis.

no i had no intentions of putting one in my reef tank i planned on setting up another tank all together
