I would love to see some Colony pictures of Cyphastrea Decadia. All the pictures I have seen are Frags.

Don't know if this counts as a colony or a frag, but here it is nonetheless.

Don't have a burgundy one - but this one is about 3" x 3" (started from a tiny frag) and a big chunk of a frag - accidentally :-( - was taken off of the top right corner.

So do these grow very fast in your experience?

I dont know why - I always figured it was a slow grower, but I had no basis for that.

The owner of the "accidental big chunk" speaks :-)

This has been a very slow grower for me. I've had it for a couple of years now but it seems to be fairly hardy surviving a disaster of a tank transfer when many others gave up sitting in buckets and a kalc flood that caused other SPS's to slime (no deaths) but this one didn't miss a beat.

Awesome Pictures guys. For such a cool looking coral I'm surprised I barely see Colony pictures. I always see frags.

Lol to the owner of the accidental chunk. So would you say they grow like an 1/8 inch a month or less or more? Seriously contemplating a peice. Eve, any plans to accidently lop off another peice. Hint hint.

Here's my AC colony. It seems to heal over & color up pretty fast, though I haven't noticed too much growth since I got it. The tyree one grows really slow I think based on the very limited availability.

Wentreefgirl - sorry I'm just seeing your post!

I had to break down about 1/3rd of my tank and did knock off 2 tiny pieces (kind of like the size I first got from the LE list). They need to grow more before I let them go.

I just bought a frag:)

I run 250watt halides on my tank where are you guys mounting them?

Do they like to be mounted high in the tank or low?

I've always kept mine close to the bottom under 400 watters (14K's). It seems to be OK with just about any current - my current now is pretty strong but it's not getting blasted- but it also did fine in lesser current before I switched tanks.

I actually have mine high up but it's slight shade by a power head. It a lot bigger than the picture show and it has kept it's color really well since I've gotten it.

All your colonys are incredible!

I placed mine midlevel in the tank. A low flow area.
