So, I decided it was time to upgrade and after working on my wife for a few months I got a tentative thumbs up. By thumbs up I mean she was showing interest in larger tanks and recommending possible aquascaping and livestock.
I took that as a "go ahead". Of course, I am a guy so I did things the right way. I didn't tell her I was doing it.
I found a used 135 with stand and sump for a bargain and brought it home.
I spent some time cleaning and scrubbing because it needed some love after being in an abandoned restaurant. But I got it ready to go.
I did a lot of pre-planning and figured I would go all out with the cabinetry. It is going in my office and I have some custom cabinets that I want to match.
So first idea:
The blue line is an EL tube that will run in the face of the cabinet.
revision:
Of course along the way a larger tank made it's presence known. So my new system will consist of a 220G DT, a 100G sump, 2 inline 40b for frag tanks (SPS and LPS separated) with an external skimmer driven by an Iwaki pump (eventually 2 pumps for redundancy).
