So, besides the fact that they overdrive T5 bulbs. Is there any reason to choose this ballast over other T5 ballasts.

Triad, advance, ballastwise, etc...

IMO icecap customer service is the best, very reliable runs cool and if for some reason you are not happy with the t5s you can use NO, VHO, HO and PC in any combination, just don't exceed the 440W limit. In my 125 I run 2 660s and I override 40W phillips bulbs from HD and 2 110W actinics.
