I heard that you can put ice Cap T-5 individual reflectors on a nova extreme lighting system, is this true? If so where do you purchase them at?

can't say if they'll fit or not but you can get them from reefgeek, premium aquatics, marine depot, dr's foster smith, etc...... most any online retailer has them.

I heard someone talking about it.. on a anemone forum site.. posters said they did this method.. but neither had a a pic of their system.. didn't know how safe this would be.

hope these are good pics for u tell..

you could probably get them in there if you bent them a bit, but I'm not sure that'd give you the best light reflection. you could put them on two non adjacent bulbs, but I'm not sure if the light you'd gain by that would outweigh the light you'd block from the adjacent bulb that didn't have one as it would slightly overlap the bulbs light displacement.

it appears you've got a splash guard on there as well, removing it would help allot just clean the bulbs of salt creep ever so often.

i use water proof end caps and i keep my bulbs about 2 inches off the water surface, with the minimal amount of splash i can see on your cover I'd just put some silicone grease (not silicone sealant) in the sockets and that'll keep any moisture out of them.

or even better swap it to an IceCap ballast and overdrive the bulbs.

i said silicon grease, it's used to moisture proof electrical connections, it's not silicon sealent used to bond or seal things :)

I saw a guy with an 8x54 nova extreme fit 4 IC reflectors in there but said there wasn't enough room for 8.

No way could you get them on every bulb. I dont see how it would be worth it because you would effectively block much of the light from the bulbs that didnt have them. They are computer designed, bending them so they are not as wide will definitely hurt their effectiveness. You could wire up an 8 lamp Nova so only the 4 sockets with the SLR's are active but why? You will get, IME, a little bit more light from the 8 bulbs than the 4 with SLR's. Then again, you would save half the electricity and heat and bulb costs for almost as much light. Seems like an expensive way to get a 4 T5 system with SLR reflectors though.
