IceCap 220Volt ballast

Could I use this ballast (http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merc...Code=ICE-400NHB-220v&Category_Code=Ice-halide) without any metal box? will it cause heat problem?

Does IceCap 400watt NEW Style Halide Ballast(http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merc..._Code=ICE-PAC-400-MH&Category_Code=Ice-halide) have 220Volt version?

Hi,

Yes, you can run that type ballast without a metal box. They run pretty cool for a halide ballast.

They do have the new style available in 220v as well. Matter fact, i'm having our shipping guys check Monday to make sure what we have instock is older style or new. If it is the older style, we can arrange for a dropship of the new style 220v if you prefer that style.

By the way, is the new style ballast have more output than "old style" ? if it is true, is the different serious ?

Hi,

Yes, the new style ballast does give you greater output from what we are told. The older style was a little more energy efficient, but didn't run the bulbs quite as bright.
