IceProbe chiller: bulkheaded on back of tank or on sump?

This is on a 10 gallon tank and will be controlled with a ReefKeeper.
The reason I would need one on the tank is that if my ReefKeeper would need servicing or if the sump needed maintenance. This situation has happened before when I didn't have a chiller. I just dropped a spare heater in the tank and because it was a cheap heater and because it wasn't controlled by the ReefKeeper, it went stuck on and the temperature went up to 95F. I lost a fish. Then the temperature went down to 70F after I threw ice in the tank. I can't believe my oscellaris survived!

But as long as my sump return pump can work with the IceProbe in the sump, it would be just as trustworthy.

Sounds like your problem has more to do with a cheap heater than not using a reefkeeper. You can try a temp controller as well.
