IceProbe Chiller

Just wanted to find out some info on the IceProbe Thermoelectric Aquarium Chiller that PA sells. Who has one, what they think of them and what size tank they are in. Thanks in advance.

It is a tank in the planning stages-75gal with an open top, 30-40gal sump, 2-150 MH Pendants , and would be located on the second floor of my house, which stays a little warmer in the summer even with the air on. I just have a feeling that it will become to hot with all these factors. I know it says for up to a 55gal tank but I wondered how well it would work on this setup because I don't want to spend a lot of money if I donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t have too. Let me know your opinion. Thanks

It's hard to say given the tank is not setup yet. You might get a degree or two with the Iceprobe on that size tank, not much though. I personally wouldn't trust it on much over 30gals or so.

What about considering a Pacific Coast CL-280?

It will only put out as much heat as what is in your tank. I wouldn't expect a whole lot from it with the setup you will have. I would stick it right next to the sump and pump into and drain back to the sump.
