My blue tang is severely affected by ich. I started treatment yesterday but U think it may be too late. His eyes were a bit cloudy this morning. Can this be reversed with the treatment or is the fish doomed to lose his eyes?
I have never been able to keep a blue tang without ick until I stated using ozone. If you want to keep a blue tang with 0 problems either get a UV or ozone. I have one today and he is in perfect condition.
It's not unusual for a parasite infected fish to develop secondary bacterial infections. It sounds like that is what is going on.
A freshwater dip will not cure Marine Ich (Cryptocaryon irritans) but it can help the fish get rid of some of the parasites attached to the gills and other exposed parasites.
How are you treating the fish of this condition? The reason why I ask is, if the fish is in a quarantine or hospital tank undergoing certain kinds of treatments, it is possible to treat the fish with an antibiotic at the same time it is being treated for Marine Ich.
