Ich and Lighting

Hello, I came across you article on marine ich treatments and noticed the section on light. That the parasite waits on the host for darkness and subsequently waits until dark to hatch once falling off. I was wondering then if you have ever experimented or seen anything on not turning the lights off? What would happen? Would they never drop off? Likewise would they never hatch? I looked around on the internet to see if anyone had tried to leave the lights on 24/7 to see what would happen and could not find anything. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I have never tried it, but if this is a reef tank, you would likely do damage to your corals with 24/7 lighting.

I would investigate further if fish need any down time before subjecting their to eternal daylight. You might be subjecting them to more stress than this "treatment" would be worth.
