Ich from CUC?

Well I guess I just confirmed that you can get Ich from introducing a cuc without putting them in qt tank first.

I have always quarantined all my fish and this time was no different. Had my 2 clowns and 1 firefish in QT for 6 weeks. They didnt have any signs of ich at all so I felt comfortable putting them in DT. These are my first fish in this tank so theres definitely no ich in DT. Didn't treat the fish in QT as I do not like to just treat if I see no signs of anything (maybe this is my problem).

Well a few days ago I added a little cuc consisting of some snails/fighting conch. Couple days later 2 of my fish are showing signs of ich. Never had to deal with Ich before but I think I'm going to leave things alone for a bit. Theres only 2 spots on firefish and 3 on clown and they both are doing fine. Going to see how things go if I keep perfect tank conditions and feed well (which I always do anyway)

I definitely will be ready to remove the fish and treat if things get bad. Just don't want to stress the fish out right now by catching them and putting them in QT again.

This definitely sucks! I spend time to QT all my fish and still this happens. Why do I bother :(

Seems crazy to have to QT a cuc but who knows. Maybe they had Ich in QT and just didnt show signs of it. Just cant bring myself to treat the fish for something that they may or may not have. Seems cruel to expose them to copper when not needed.

Ich can be in the gills and not seen. Unless the fish is known to not withstand copper it should be treated. This is why I advocate QT of everything, you just never know.
Sucks to hear you got ich after all that work. :(
