Ich infecting fish corpse?

I've lost several fish to ich and am going to catch the survivors today for cupramine treatment but I'm worried about some of the smaller fish bodies still being in the rocks. I don't have as many scavengers as I'd like so the bodies may still be there to prolong the ich life cycle. Is ich able to host on a fish corpse? Do I need to break down the reef to search for any fish corpses to be removed?

Ich trophonts typically leave the fish after the fish has died. An ammonia spike would be the bigger concern if you have inverts in the tank.

Ammonia wont be a problem as I have tons of mature LR but does this mean they can still host on a corpse?

Losing a lot of fish quickly often indicates velvet, rather than ich. Cupramine will cure either; but success rates for fish with velvet are lower.

I agree. Usually losing multiple fish in a relatively short period of time indicates oodinium rather than cryptocaryon.
