i had 3 fish and unfortunatly the have died of ich. what do i do now. how long should i wait to get more fish. do i need to treat the tank with anything. i still have my cleanup crew a couple peppermint shrimp and a bubble anemone. should i put in a reef safe ich killer like "stop parasite" or "kick ich"

If you do a search for the reefsafe Ich treatments, you'll find it's hit or miss for some people. In my experience, when I was keeping a reef aquarium, NO ICH and KICK ICH has not worked for me.

Since you have no fish at the moment and if you want to make sure the ICH is gone, run the tank fowl for a minimum of 2 weeks to a month. With no fish as host, the remaining ICH will die off. The typical life cycle of ICH is about 12-16 days depending on the temperature of the tank. If you do a search for ICH, most suggest running fishless for a month to be certain.

Keep in mind that if you don't quarantine new additions, there is the possibility of reintroducing ICH into the tank.

good luck.

actually since you have no fish you want to go 11 weeks with the tank fallow 2 weeks is no where near long enough and 1 month is very iffy.Make sure any future fish are put in qt so you dont have to go through this again.

Leave your tank completely fishless for 8 or more weeks, 12 if you want to be safe. The parasite that causes ich will die in this time without a fish to host in. As the others have said, quarantine future fish or you will likely have to deal with this again.
