Ich on Diamond Goby?

I've noticed my Royal Gramma flashing for about a week now and this morning the dreaded ich spots were finally visible . I also have a Diamond Goby, who's been doing great, eating like a pig and happy as can be. I've read around that gobies are less susceptible to suffering from ich, so I have a small dilemma.

I'll be setting up a QT to house and treat the Royal Gramma over the next couple days, but I'm wondering about the Goby. He's doing so well, I'd hate to pull him out, cause stress, treat him (potentially with cooper; still undecided) for a a parasite he may not even have. But I also want to leave my tank fishless for the ich to cycle through (6-8 weeks I've heard).

Any suggestions on if the Goby should come out as well? Into a bare bottom QT? Or can he stick around in DT and still allow for the ich to cycle through?

unfortunately if you leave any fish in the display, you will not be eradicating the ich and it will reinfect your other fish when added back to the display therefore making your qt of just the royal gramma pointless.

That's understandable. Frustrating but understandable!

Sidenote: I have corals coming later in the week. If I start eradicating, corals can still be added, correct?

The simple answer would be yes. Corals themselves cant hosts/harbor ich but there is always the small chance that the water can carry some kind of unwanted parasite which is why some people qt everything wet that goes into their tanks. You can add your corals and then start your fallow period timer.
