Ich problem

Either would work as long as they are rated for the tank and no media in them. Especially if you treat with copper

Good advice. I learned my lesson... nothing goes into my tank without going through QT first.

Good to hear. Just so you know, my money is on the hippo brining the ich to the tank. They are notorious for carrying ich (no matter what size tank they go in). Of course any fish can carry ich, but there are a lot worse things out there. That is why I recommend a QT for at least 6 weeks. Even that still leaves a 5% chance of getting ich. So 8-10 weeks is better (depending on your risk tolerance).

formalin works great and is not as harsh on it's inhabitants....I wonder why no one recommends this great answer....
