okay i know iu have to quaritine my fish. i already put my pbt in a quaritine. i read on here i would have to do this to all my fish in order to really get rid of the ich. my question is can i just mix up frsh salt water for the fish in a new tank without letting it cycle. as far as know thats not possible. so i will in turn have to let the quaritine cycle i guess huh. please explain what to do exactly. can i just use fresh garlic in my display and completely get rid of the ich. i have a reef tank so no hyposalinty or copper. thanks

What you need to do, is take water from your existing system that the fish are currently in and put it in the qt. That way all parameters are the same. Than the fish can go straight in to the qt. From there you can lower the salinity for hypo, or use copper just on fish. You can leave all inverts in your display tank. All you really need is an you can seed the tank with a sponge that you put in your sump or canister filter for a few days. Garlic doesn't have the researched and established proof to say that it is a sure cure. And there is no such thing as a reefsafe treatment. So your only option for complete treatment is QT. Not what you wanted to hear, but if you can do it for the required amount of time, and follow strict qt procedures you should enjoy a parasite free tank for as long as you can keep it.
There are threads out the wah-zoo on how to treat fish in QT. Start with the above stickies on ich treatments and qt procedures. You will get a lot of mixed information. Some "info" will leave you just as bad as you started, some "info" will leave your tank fishless. So read, read, read. You will find a method that works for you, let me say that it won't be the easy method.
