ich + quarantine + remove all the fish?

ive been reading alot about ich outbreaks and how you should quarantine them so the outbreaks do not occur. the idea being that the parasites can reattach themselves a few weeks later.

my question is should all the fish be removed? what if i remove the sick fish and then the parasites attach to a healthy fish? couldn't this be an endless cycle?

i am QTing all my fish right now.i have an achilles tang that broke out with ich, which in turn passed it to my mimic tang.it is the safest thing to QT all the fish and treat them all.the ich will remain in the tank and if fish are present it has a host and can complete its life cycle.as for the endless cycle, you run that risk by not treating them all at once.

checkinhawk,

here's a question i've been thinking about. after the quarantine period and you are about to add your fish back in the tank...how are you going to do it?

for me adding all at once seems it would have a large affect on the bioload.

you have any input on this?
