If I can successfully catch ALL the fish in my display tank...
Would it be effective if I just drained out all the salt water and filled the tank with freshwater only and let it run for 24-48 hrs ???
would this not kill all the ich present in the tank ?

I dont have "live rock" its a fish only with dead base rock...some sand on the bottom ...and algae scrubber in sump...


your thoughts ...please...

No , draining the tank would not kill off the eggs in the sand and or rock. You have to run the tank fishless "fallow" for 4 to 6 weeks.

Treat the fish in a seperate tank with hypo salinity (1.009) for 4 to 6 weeks or use a copper med and follow the directions.

Sorry didn't see you want to run "fresh" water. You still have to QT the fish so why upset the system by killing all the good bacteria. The Carion will die without a host while you are treating the fish.

qt 'ing the fish takes 14 days of copper...
I dont wanna wait 6 weeks or more fallow...
I dont care about killing bacteria,as i have an algae based filtration..
