Ich questions in DT

Back before I got smart and started QTing all my fish my kole tang got ich. I was able to work through it by feeding garlic soaked food. It has been years since that problem. My question is does the ich still live in the DT? Or will it die off with no host? All my fish are healthy and have been for over a year.

Ich is still present, your fishes immune system has it in check at the moment...
A stressful situation may change this and ich will reappear.
