Well its happened, ive got ich. Ive spent the last 12 hrs doing searchs and reading lots of threads, to end up completely lost on how to treat it. It seems theres half a dozen of one or 6 of another when it comes to treatment, and i dont know what to do. My system concists of a 90 gal with a zerbra eel, a skelator ell, two lions, a fox face, a porcupine puffer, three starfish and a couple urchins in it. Ive got about 30 lbs of live rock and 2inches of live sand. It has a 30 gal sump and another 30 gal tied to it with an angler in it. I filled up a 75 gal last night with fresh saltwater to qt if needed. But what do i do? Hypo the hole setup? Pull all the fish into the 75 gal and treat with copper? Or pull the inverts and copper the 90gal? How will the copper affect the eels? Any input will be much appericated!

id pull all the fish and treat the 75g with copper. id would avoid copper in your dt.

im doing a tank transfer for my ich issue right now. im on day 3.it is very stressful for both the fish and myself. im wondering if u shouldve done copper myself. but i shouldnt say that untill the treatment is done. so far only lost my flame angel.

ive read that eels can be sensitive to copper.

I'd try hypo if you have fish that are sensitive to copper. Your DT must remain without fish (inverts are fine) for like 8 weeks. So pull all the fish (eels are fish) into the 75 g and do the hypo. You can bring SG down over two days, but if it's urgent you can do 1.009 immediately.

It's going back up that must be done slowly without exception.
