Ich recomendations

My fish are showing some white spots. It doesn't seem to bother them, but I don't want to ignore it and let it get bad. From what I've read it looks like Ich. I have started a treatment regime with
Ich-Attack by AquaHerbals. Anyone have success with this? or can recommend a reef/softcoral safe treatment.

(I also run a uv filter):strooper:

I have also gone back and read some of the prior posts on Ich. So the last part of my question is kinda pointless.

Never tried Ich-Attack. I did get rid of ich by using a combination of a uv light, cleaner shrimp, and soaking fish food with kent garlic extreme.

I've read where using garlic and turning up the heat in the tank 83/84 to expedite the life cycle of ich.

i can tell you that i have tried all of that and it works and doesnt work at the same time. I have a 180 that hada scopas tang, mimic tang, powder blue tang, clowns, and a wrase. I tried garlic extrem from kent and it work for a week and then ick came back, so i tried kick ick and that stuff does nothing at all, i think it all depends on what type of fish that you have because my small fish had it and then it went away and has never shown up again but my tangs would lose it and then it would come back a week later and aventualy it just killed the tangs slowly to the point were i had to strip the whole tank down remove all the fish and put the powder blue and the clowns in a seperate tank to put them threw the only thing that works " hypo", now my tank has not had a fish in it for a month and my tang and clowns look great and are in good shape. I no now that you have to put fish in a seperate tank to clear them of all poarisites before they enter the main system. What i understand is ich never goes away as long as there is a fish in there to host off of. Hope this because i dont want anyone to go threw the same thing i did.

Garlic has no proven effects agains marine ich

Raising the temp will not rid the tank of this parasite either.

The reason you saw the ich go away and come back is due to their life cycle. The trophents drop off into the substrate to reproduce then come back to attack the fish.

If you believe it is ich then you need to remove all fish to a hospital tank and preform hypo as sshunter said. Leave the main tank fishless. here is a hypo link
