Alright not sure if I made a huge boo boo or I have nothing to worry about. I don't see what I ended up doing will actually make a difference.
I have a 90G tank that is running fallow and has been for two weeks. I had used a powerhead in there to blow off rocks and leave it out to dry a week at a time. Well I ordered a GFO reactor and took the dry powerhead (at least I think it was dry) and put it in my 32 gallon saltwater garbage can that holds fresh salt water.
I realize that I could have put ich in my garbage can, but I don't see how it would exactly matter. I use this water to put in my DT during water changes and in my QT tanks. One QT tank is empty and the other one has two fish in it that I haven't done TTM with yet. I will be doing that at the end of quarantine.
So if I'm right, I could have transferred some of the free swimming stage to my saltwater vat and back in my DT or QT. But it appears to me that doesn't matter because it would do the same life cycle in either vessel and with no fish to host, it would continue it's death progression.
Nothing went from the QT with fish back to the vessel or to the DT.
