Ich Treatment QT

So my royal gramma has ich. I only have 4 fish that I need to pry out of the DT so I can let that fallow while I treat the fish.

I currently only have a 10g QT. I have. Ruby head wrasse, 2 o clowns and a royal gramma. My personal opinion is that the qt is to small for all of my fish for 3 months. What are your opinions? Funds are limited thanks to having just done all my Xmas shopping.

Yes your 10 gal isn't large enough for that many fish. Get a large plastic container from WalMart for a few bucks. Can get them any size you want. I'd get a 30-50 gal one to setup as a QT.

Petco's $ per gal sale ended yesterday, you might want to call them and see if they will extend the sale for you today. Never know until you ask. But you can get a 40b for a QT would be perfect. Too bad you didn't post this a few days ago :( I'd still call them anyway.

Yea, unfortunately they wouldn't. My good friend works for them and his boss wouldn't do it for him. Just bad luck. Is a brute really a long term possibility?

Also, I went out into the yard to deal with the pool and came back in 2 hours later and he's swimming around fine and not a spot on him? Is this a normal ich behavior/life cycle?

Yes the brute will last a lifetime. I wouldn't do anything to elaborate with it as Petco will have another sale probably around Christmas and New Years. They do them several times a year.

Yes that's normal and why the TTM method works so well, they fall off you switch tanks and when the eggs hatch you just transfer until the cycle has no more critters to drop off.

Well my bud that works at petco ended up having a 29g bio cube sitting in his garage. In the process of filling it up now, will move the royal gramma to the 10g and other 3 to the biocube

Just remember, looks is a poor way to determine if fish are healthy after having ich. You just have to have all fish Qt'd and treated through the full life cycle of the parasite as well as leaving the DT fallow through the period.
