Ich

Is it true that once you have ich in your DT that you'll never be able to get rid of it unless you remove all fish from tank and let it cycle fishless for about 3months to finally kill ich?

Everytime I add a tang to my tank it gets ich writhin 2 weeks and later dies, while my sailfin tang survives?

I don't understand this.

Please read the ich stickies in this forum. If you put clean fish into a tank that has been without fish for 9 weeks you will be fine.

More to your question; some fish seem to have some immunity to ich and your Sailfin appears to be one of them. This, from all I've read, seems to be a temporary thing with most fish. Your sailfin probably does have some ich, not just visible right now---ich loves the gills. The fact is, your tank has ich and sooner or later, it will probably be a huge problem if you ignore it. Any temporary immunity fails when a major tank stressor occurs; like a big droop in temp due to power or heater failure, ammonia spike from a dead fish, sudden maturity creates a very aggressive fish, etc., etc.
