I had him for only a month or so. Such a cool fish with a great personality. The flame angel isn't even interested in the nori now that his buddy isn't there. If fact, the flame never cared for it and didn't start eating seaweed until the powder tang came into the mix. Even though I started with half the dose of meds, in his fragile state, that may have pushed him over the edge.

So I've learned some good lessons.

If it sounds too good to be true, it is. I wasted time on a couple of more holistic reef safe options because I really wanted them to work. I'm headed out of town for two weeks and didn't want my house sitter to have to deal with a hospital tank.

Two bottles of Kordons Ick Attack and my poor tang kept getting worse. It has worked for some but I think his outbreak was too far down the road.

Garlic and vitamin C don't cure ich either. Can't hurt to boost their immune systems but not a cure. Sounded too good to be true.

and finally.................QUARANTINE like crazy!


I was in denial about the whole reality of it. I should have gone nuclear right away. By the time I resigned myself to do it right, it was too late for my tang.

You need to treat every fish in your tank and run fallow for 8 weeks, if you don't it will be back at some point. Hypo salinity is much less stressful for them
