Hi I have had my reef setup 190 litre trigon for 5 months now stocked with mainly lps coral and 1 flame angel 1 yellow tang 1 regal tang and 2 clowns
I Discovered that i had ich 2 months ago i am planning on removing my fish and placing them in a quarantine tank for treatment for 72 days
I will then let my display tank run its course without fish for 72 days hoping that the cycle of ich will die off,

But what my concern is having coral and inverts in my display tank that this will keep the ich cycle going on? please may I have your advice on this.

The coral and inverts will not be affected by ich or prolong it's life cycle. It's needs a fish to infect and survive.

Thank you lespaul339 would you say that was my only option with the display tank with coral and inverts ?

Hi micro lady leaving DT with coral and inverts including Bta running without fish and no chemical treatmentS will eradicate the problem inside the DT? Any other suggestions will be appreciated

The only way to eradicate it from you DT is to just let it sit fallow for 72 days or longer if you can. It sucks I know. I'm currently in the process of it myself. My tank has sat fallow since July 1st. But My fish are finally cured from using a copper treatment, now I'm just keeping them in observation before I decide to put them back in to make sure ich is 100 percent gone. Ich is a nasty thing but it is possible to cure it. Just takes time and patience. Good luck!

Yes. When people say leave it fallow that just means fishless. Corals, rock, and inverts are fine. You just want to remove fish so what ever ich thats left in the tank can't find a host. Then because there's no host it will die off.

You have another option which would probably be better and you will have a guaranteed result...nuke the tank and start over. I went fallow for 4 months and it did absolutely nothing. You just can't be sure what you are dealing with so in my opinion, unless you start from scratch you are wasting time.

Yes, without fish as the others mentioned. Good luck!

A drastic measure should be carefully considered first. I would try fishless for a couple of months before I did this. You don't have anything more to lose, but nuking it will kill everything, including the nitrifying bacteria, beneficial algae, and inverts.
