I have a koran angel that has developed a white spot on his clear side fin. I dont think I see any more white spots maybe a tiny tiny white onenot sure could be some sand or something. I asked my fish store and they said if its that minor of a case its nothing to worry about esp if he is new to the tank(about a week)
so should I be worried? and if so what do I do about it.

scroll down a bit here there are some pics of a fish with ich

I think its a slim chance that it is sand. The fish is swimming in water sand would fall off IMO. I dont agree with your LFS, Ich is only visible during one period in its life cycle. The fact that it is new only strengthens the case that it could be ich. You may want to look for a better LFS. If it is ich your fish could be infected worse than you know. I wouldnt take any action just yet, but I would get my QT set up and ready to go. If you find it is ich all your fish will need to be moved to the QT and treated with hyposalinity for 6-8 weeks and your main display will have to be fishless for those 8 weeks.

I had a similar problem with a trigger and I was told to freshwater dip him in distilled water. I was hesistant at first, but later I netted him and poured dist. water all over him (same temp. of course) then returned him to the tank. After a couple of days, his spots were deteriorating and he is in great shape now.
