can someone explain to me why is it that only the french angels seem to get ick in my tank and not my other fish this is the third angel i put in and it gets white spots.it eats fine but i just dont know.
Some fish seem more suseptible to ich than others ... some argue that tangs and similar fish that don't have the heavy scales of other fish are more prone.
Fish tend to develop varying levels of immunity to ich .. sometimes its complete immunity and often is partial immunity. Chances are you other fish have developed some level of immunity. If a fish has partial immunity it may allow the parasite to live at a low level within the tank.
If you want an ich free tank then I suggest you QT and treat all of your fish for ich (whether they show signs of not) ... if you leave the ST without fish for about 5 weeks any ich within that tank should naturally die off (ich needs a fish host to perpetuate its life cycle).
