will a UV help and you cannot use copper what else is there? I did not see any reef safe meds at any LFS near me:(

"Reef safe" depends on what you have. If you have a tank full of coral then there is no reef safe poison for ich. If you are just starting and basically just have a FOWLR then go ahead and give it a shot.

UV will not rid your tank of ich but it will definitely help - assuming you get a good quality unit and use a nice slow flow rate. Rubbing fresh crushed garlic on the food will also help IME, but not as much as UV. Best thing to do is just take really good care of your fish. Make sure your water quality is good and you feed them well. In many cases healthy stress-free fish can fight off the parasite just fine without resorting to chemical warfare.

ich is a invertabra so that means the chemical that you put in has to kill them that means all invertabra it dont work i increased feedings added garlic and spiranala to food he shook it off on his own it come back now and then but they are healthy and fight it off chemicals dont work save your money

I use a high powered UV with a very slow flow rate (400 gallons per hour with 55 watt UV in my 200 gallon), along with Kick Ick used every other day for about a month and a neon cleaner goby. Lesley
