ick or no?

The clown has had this spot by its gill since I bought it, the breathing is fine, hes been eating like a pig(flakes with garlic) and its the only spot.
All the behavior looks normal also
What could this be?

luckily it doesnt look like brook. does it look like a piece of sand, or soft and fluffy?

soft and fluffy, and its above the skin, but like I said everything is normal.

soft and fluffy is a sign of lymphocystis, which usually occurs from a poor diet (flake foods). how long have you had the fish?

yup its lymphocystis... not much I can do about it accept make sure everything stays stable in my tank and continue feeding
