ick-x or copper treatment for anglefish and wrasses

what treatment in a QT do you guys recomend for anglefish and wrasses.
Goldflake and potters wrasses..

signs of ick.. scratching.. not sure if flukes most likely ick.

i have used copper for years.. but was told ick-x is more broad spectrum for secondary like infections..

recomendations.. hpyo and tanks transfer not options..

Copper, quinine sulfate and chloroquine phosphate are the on ly medications I've found proven to work. Isn't ich-x more of a formalin treatment?(low dose)

YES.. it was suggested to me.. I to have been doing this for 20 plus years any basically always relied on copper to handle ick. then I was recommended to ick-x. and so I asked the question on this thread.

what is interesting is I intend to use copper or copurmaine from seachem.. there is an article somewhere that suggested you could use copper and methylene blue together.. I was asking about that on a different thread. but no really input.

You did get replies on that thread, there is no benefit to it.

Why do you want to use methylene blue? It doesn't really treat anything except potentially for acute cyanide poisoning.

Some individuals prefer to use freshwater with methylene blue in the dip (Fenner, pers. comm.- more information here). Methylene blue is an anti-microbial dye. It is effective against a wide range of microbes such as bacteria, fungus, yeast, etc. This combination works well to rid the animal of external parasites and provides some protection against secondary infections. As I stated in part one of this series, I almost always use daily water changes. These daily cleanings tend to spur the fishes' own immune system to combat any secondary infections by helping to maintain optimum water quality, so I have not felt the need for using Methylene blue, but it is a worthwhile option to consider.

MB is really only effective with fungal problems. That's why its used with hatching eggs. Fungal infections are very rare with fish and the MB does little with bacterial infections; at least SW infections. If a bacterial infection does result; its from the parasite, not the choice of treatment. Any secondary infections will give you plenty of time to treat them after the copper has done its job and removed.
