hi i recantly had a major ich out brake in my main reef tank so i caught all the remainder fish and put into my qt they have been in there since may 20 i plan on puting them in the reef on aug first. but while in qt for the fist week they had no ich spots and i medicated with quick cure which says it effectively treats ick and other stuff. does this stuff really work and kill ick what i can't see. i really don't want to do hypo please help thank you.

Hypo or copper treatment will kill the ich do not use copper in the main tank i think ich is always present in tanks to some degree it shows it self when fish are stressed or not healthy or poor water conditions its like a cold if fish are not healthy they can not fight it off...What fish do you have?

mr honda is absolutely correct. Ich is present all the time in everyone's display tanks.
it just depends on your tank parameters, temp, and diet etc for your fish to be able to fight it off. quick cure works pretty good IME. hth! -will

There is another product i just started to use it is called marine max a friend of mine uses it in his 1800 gallon sps prop system and it works very well for me might want to give it a try...

well not exactly correct. There is a fair amount of evidence that shows Ich can be successfully eradicated from a reef tank if the tank is left fallow for at least 6-12 weeks.

It's possible, many have done it. Patience and vigilance are all that you need.

As for the quick cure, or whatever it's called, it's snake oil. Use hypo, copper or someother treatment that is harmful to inverts, after all that is what the parasite basically is.

i have all 4 of my fish in my qt right know as metioned since may 20 what is a good copper product and how is it used

use seachem cupramine. just follow the directions on the bottle. Get a copper test kit as well and test regularly.

+1 Christ27, copper and hypo are the only proven treatments, ich isnt in every tank, if you QT all your livestock and treat for ich even if they show now signs it will never enter your DT.
