Hi,
I bought a wrasse and was told it was a Carpenter's Flasher wrasse juvenile. It's tiny(one inche, no more) . I tried to take a good picture of it but it stays hidden most of the time.

Here's the picture i have of it.

Do you think it's a Carpenter's wrasse or anything else? I've tried to find pictures of juvenile wrasses but didn't find much.
Thanks

It is definitely a juvenile fairy, just not sure of the exact species... Cos a lot of fairy juvenile looks like that... Maybe a location of where is this from, might have a chance of a positive id..

Hope it's not Walindi :( Anybody have a picture of a juvenile Carpenter's wrasse? Carpenter's wrasse is not a fairy wrasse right?

Carpenter wrasse is a flasher wrasse, this is confirm not a juvenile carpenter... Thou i haven seem a juvenile carpenter before but i am certain this is a juvenile fairy...

Sounds like the LFS I was at the other day that was trying to sell a carpenter's wrasse as a mccosker's for $80.....I felt like saying something but their already a bunch of winner's there and I didn't want to add to their ego.

Well it's just not what i wanted and from the pictures i saw of them. They are not as nice looking as a Carpenter's in my opinion. Just not what i ordered. :(

Yes but still no answer. grrrr...Of course Carpenter's or not i will still love and take care of this fish like all others but i'm a bit ****ed at the guy who sent this to me. Boy finding pictures of juvenile wrasses is really hard to find.

Thanks for the link. This is a picture of a juvenile Carpenter's right? I sure doesn't look like my fish.

thanks again

That is not a female C. condei. It is also NOT a flasher wrasse. The link supplied is of a juvenile flasher wrasse, maybe a carpenters, but not for certain.

Ok now i have a better picture of my wrasses. It has grown quite a bit. And it also has darkened a bit over the head and back.

Well, it's definitly a cirrhilabus and not a paracheilinus, sorry. Looking at WWM, it looks like it might also be a C. tonozukai. =/ I guess one way to look at it is that you might have gotten more than you paid for since fairies are generally far more expensive than flashers.
