it came in a bag of live sand and i didn't really pay attention too it until it started to grow more hair like tentacles and move. it looked like it was attempting to attach to a piece of live rock(with thicker tentacles) before i pulled it out and qt'd it. It also had a friend that hasn't grown.

Looks like some type of macro algae. Put it in some tank water and get some more pics.
