I was thinking this coral was Acanthastrea echinata, but the largest polyp is 3-4 inches in diameter(smaller polyp is about 1 inch across). Do you think it is an echinata?
This guy is attached to a rock and is growing around it. I thought scolymia had to live on the sand. He also doesn't seem to be as fleshy as a scolymia.

If you follow the sides of the coral around you can see the rock it is on and where it is growing over the rock. Do you still think it is a scolymia?
