ID growth on elegance

I need help with a growth on my elegance coral. My hermit decided to climb over it instead of going around it id and I noticed this on it. Can any one point me in the right direction. my first guess is a vermetid snail or worm but I'm not sure.

Yup, vermetid snail. Break the sucker out and scrape remaining off. While pretty much harmless, the food web they cast out annoys corals.
