ID help, and a question.

The cyborg reefer
I had to work some unexpected overtime today... and as a reward I wandered down to my LFS.

They had a little post it note on one of the tanks... small rock w/ mushrooms $10. They were the same boring brown that the free bee polyps had, and they turned a nice radioactive green on them, so I figured what the heck. Well this is what I have 6 hours later, can anyone give me a better ID. I have them fairly low in a 30" deep tank w/ 12 39W T5's and some T8 supplimentals...

My appologies for the pics... its an archaic camera...

and second question... is there a good way to get a mushroom off a rock, I'd like to spread them around the tank a bit.

tissue damage is always hard on corals, but if you can get some cutters or find some way to chip off the rock below where they are attached you can move them wherever you please.

Ok, so first this looks like a Rhodactis mushroom of some sort, also called a tonga mushroom by some. I would personally give them about 2 weeks to a month in the tank before cutting them to make sure they are properly adjusted, however after that a sharp scalpel, exacto knife, or pair of scissors will cut them off the rock and a bit of bridal veil and a rubber band will hold them on a piece of rubble untill they heal and attach.

icy1155 is very right on this one, but i like to put them in a small shallow dish of some sort with bridal veil rubber banded to the top of the dish.
