ID Help - Mini Nudi??

I found this in my 2.5 gallon. It is about the size of a pea and had a definite "head" area with feelers. It looks like some of the nudi's I've seen in pics, but this sucker was tiny. It slowly grazed across the zoos that were upset by his presence.

I am not worried about him being in there, just marveling at the diversity we have in our tanks.

It looks like a aeolid nudibranch to me. One of the families is a known to feed on palythoa which is probably why your zoas look upset.

I would worry about him being in there.. He looks just like the nudis that feed upon zoas. I would yank him out if I were you. If you see any little stringy looking things on your zoas those are its eggs. Freshwater dipping will kill the nudis but not the eggs. The dip is safe for the zoas.

Thanks for the guidance on ID. I agree with the diagnosos after doing a little more research.

I would really need to be convinced to disrupt and dip everything in the tank (or at least the zoos). I have seen only the one and, according to the reading, they are not able to self-fertilize. I have leared that going after anything too aggressively, disaster ensues. Also, the zoos were closed as he crawled across, but reopened quickly thereafter. All 5 polyp groups are quite healthy and growing.

I think I will keep an eye out for him and just snag it with the feeding tongs if he pops up again.

Am I being stupid and lazy?

Siphon that little sucker out ASAP. Just because they dont self fertilize, doesnt mean it didnt hitchhike in pregnant.

Not sure about the self fert havent really read that much about them.
