hard to tell with the blurry pic but form looks like a stylophora....... maybe a montipora of sorts as well

it looks kind of odd

is it alive?

If it isn't a purple Montipora digitata or Stylophora, it might also be a purple lace coral, Distichopora sp. - a clear indicator would be the lack of visible polyps and a smooth surface. And that would be rather unfortunate, because it's a hard to keep NPS Hydrocoral...

Only a select few people know what IYAOYAS is...

IYAOYAS Brother...

I worked on F/A-18's for 8 years... 6531

So its an IYAOYAS coral? Never heard of that ..

Grubby, was talking about my avatar

IYAOYAS= If You Aint Ordnace You Aint S***t

Its an old Naval/Marine slogan, a small elite group of us who worked exclusively on F/A-18 and other aircraft weapons systems

I got 6 years Tomcats, Hornets, and Super Hornets.

The coral that the OP was asking about is:
Lace Coral

Distichopora sp.

If it dies it keeps its bright blue color. Doesnt Bleach.
