Ok, i have this thing in my tank and because of its current location i cant get a good pic of it. Im going to describe it and maybe someone can point me to a picture of it.

It is a small round shaped shell with long hair like (white) tentacles extending from it. There is probably 10 tentacles in all. These tentacles have extended upwards of 8-9 inches in length. They grab stuff and then retract back to the shell. Its an impressive site, but what the heck can it be? I am afraid something this cool cant be good.

Any help you all may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I think you have worms. :D

Seriously, same link that Steve gave, but check out the Digitate Hydroid or Chaetopterid. Cool critters we find in our reefs!

im thinking it might be a peanut worm. it has many tentacles and i cant find an exact picture of it on the net. Are peanut worms bad/good?

I dont know much but what you are describing with a shell and tents sounds like a scallop to me not sure on the reaching and grabing though.
