ID Hermit Crab

What is this large hermit crab, i bought it a few months ago and it was marked as large hermit crab. It went from golf ball size to base ball size. One day he must of got hungry because in the morning my bicolor angel was gone, hermit crab had just the tail left in its claws. You can see his first shell on the left side of the pic. Hair algae problem? not any more with this crab!!!!!!

It could be a Dardanus megistos, white spotted hermit crab. They can have a 5" span across the legs and apparently grow at a prodigious rate. It is reported to eat anything it can catch, including sleeping fish. At least they are pretty.

I started off with his same white spotted hermit crab in a 55 gallon grew rapidly in the year or so i had him until he killed off everything and was the last man standing.

Thanks for the responses, Hes going to end up in a friends 400 gallon this week, one less thing to worry about.
