Was sold as a Rhinopias, but I don't think that's what he is. Already eaten a ghost shrimp, and acclimating nicely. TIA!

I bought the other one from him, I'm 99% sure they're ambon scorps

That's what we were leaning towards as well. Nate, let me know how yours does. Ours wolfed down a ghost shrimp last night, so we are off to a good start.

From what I understand it's not the eating that's a problem, they just perish after a few months for no apparent reason that we know of yet

Good luck w/ these fish- they are usually very hearty eaters, but love live foods. I believe Renee was able to wean hers over.

btw-- it Pteroidichthys amboinensis, AKA ambon scorpionfish

i have a nice section on them in my book and yes they are like mini rhinopias, Ok- not really, But way cool never-the-less

Yeah, that's an Ambon, like everyone else said. I hope it wasn't sold to you price-wise as a rhinopias!!:crazy1:

Not sure on the pricing for the rhinopias, but I think I got a fair price. Didn't pay anything exorbitant.
