ID needed

My tank has been up for about 3 1/2 weeks. These 2 white things showed up last night. They are about the size of a Q-tip. Does anyone know what they are? Are they safe?

sponge in and of itself is harmless, unless its smothering zoas or something , but again , thats just my guess, wait and see what others have to say

I vote sponge too. Harmless. Generaly they'll stick to shady areas.

looks like a little sponge, but could be a tunicate as well. only time will tell. either way harmless.

appears to be a Scypha-type sponge. harmless filter feeders; eventually youll find a lot of them back in your rockwork (if noone eats them).

Scypha Sponge. Ironically, they are also called Q-Tip Sponges. Good little filter feeders.
